Wisconsin Runner

The Wisconsin Runner was founded by brothers Peter and Jon Henkes in 1984. It originally was a monthly newspaper highlighting running in the state of Wisconsin. Although the newspaper is no longer published, the Wisconsin Runner has remained in the forefront of the Wisconsin running scene. Originally a youth oriented running club, the Wisconsin Runner Racing Team has evolved into the premier club for post collegiate runners in the state.  The WRRT has won the USATF Club Cross Country Championships and has had six members represent the United States on World Cross Country teams. The Wisconsin Runner is actively involved in cross country and road race management and scoring. Over the past years WR has directed the NAIA National CC Championships, the Big East, Horizon League, CCIW and Great Lakes Valley conference  cross country championships, as well as countless high school cc events, most notably the Foot Locker Cross Country  Midwest Regional Championships.
